Contemporary art from sub-Saharan Africa does not seek to idealize the image of the artist. Instead, it explores other themes such as daily life, colonization, slavery, and the specific manipulation of the artistic object. Indeed, the presence of multimedia technologies and digital spaces offers Africa vast opportunities on cultural, political, and even economic levels, within a context of global commodification. This is why, today, virtual art museums can be regarded as new spaces of appropriation. They promote and facilitate an indirect encounter between the artwork and the public. Thus, one can consider that these spaces adapt to the development of communication technologies while remaining anchored in a distinctive exhibition dynamic. This is exemplified by the work of graffiti groups in Senegal, whose spatial concerns take on a unique form through the creation of a universal communicational field.
